3 Gold Medals for British Water Ski Team

The British Water Ski Team came away with 3 gold medals at the 2010 Europe And Africa Open Championships at the Britannia Arena, Thorpe - one of the first purpose built competition standard water ski lagoons in the world.

The first gold came from William Asher in the Open Mens Slalom with 3.5 buoys on a 10.25 metre line to finish with 928.57 points overall.  Next up came Jason Seels in the Open Mens Jump with a 68.1 metre jump (223ft) and 1007.01 overall points.  This was enough to put him in first place ahead of Damien Sharman, another member of the British Water Ski Team, who had a 66.2 metre (217ft) jump.

Jason Seels also took the Open Mens Overall title, with 795.92 points in the Slalom and 742.29 in the Tricks, combined with the Jump, he scored 2545.22 to gain gold medal position and over 100 points clear of his nearest competitor.
